Autumn

Gladly I now step into autumn,

When leaves turn red and gold,

Reminds me that these leaves and I

Are ever growing  old.

In youth the days were forever and free,

We thought they’d never end,

But time plays tricks on us, my friend….

On youth no longer can we depend.

So now I bid my time to find,

The best of natures treasures…

The sunsets in the skies at dusk,

Are truly one fine pleasure…

There are so many wondrous gems,

Of nature’s best on which I’m sold…

Yet I still return to Autumn,

With its leaves of red and gold.
