MOMENTS

The night has a mystery and magic that is all its own.

Such a wonderful time of our day is night,

And the mystery and magic it slowly unfolds

May not be clearly seen as the stillness of the night air

Seems to whisper with a quiet , tranquil voice….

A voice one can’t quite hear well enough,

But to sense that someone or something is there in the still night air.

It gently pulls one out of himself (or herself) to examine the things

He has put on the shelves of his life’s moments.

Moments that  no other soul knows about except him,

And it is as silent as the still night air.

The indeterminate moments of our lives pass slowly as sand passes through the hourglass.

One by one they proceed, never to be lived again.

Should we not stop and pause at this awesome but truthful fact?

For once lost they can not return back.

Should we not live each moment as though it were a precious, priceless pearl

Passing through the hourglass of time

So as to have value when viewed by others,

As if our moments in the hourglass were of some great worth?

Alas, too many do not ponder on such matters……

And yet does this not matter more than all other considerations of life?

The simple truth is that it should, for life does matter, and we should reflect deeply on this.

We are graciously bestowed with only one of them…life….and to not live it to the fullest

Is  a true revelation of one’s  very own violation of piety.

Let us therefore heed the stillness and mystery of the night,

When true emotions issue forth from one’s being

To truly define who one is.

Let us not be afraid to move with life, grow with life,

And most of all, live life.

For the darkness of night will come upon each one

At perhaps an unexpected moment

And one can not alter the regrettable  journey he (or she) has chosen then.

Come, then, let us live life as true warriors,

Conquering as we proceed, both day and night.

Then and only then, will we have succeeded in our quest for this great venture called life.

Then, and only then, can we ascend into the stillness and mystery of the great Light.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

WE ONLY HAVE THIS MOMENT, SPARKLING LIKE A STAR IN OUR HAND-AND MELTING LIKE A SNOWFLAKE.
